BANANA YUCCA

SPECIES : Yucca baccata


UTILIZATION
Banana yucca was greatly utilized by Native Americans. In areas where banana yucca was plentiful, the fruits and seeds were a dietary staple. Fermented drinks were made from the sap. The sap was also used as a color-fixing agent for pottery paint. The roots of banana yucca lather and were used for soap. The leaves are fibrous and were used for making baskets, sandals, and rope.
