Mojave Desert Class I Railroad Infrastructure![]() Historic Class I RailroadsEach (Historic) Class I railroad operates in multiple states over thousands of miles of track. These were the largest carriers, and accounted for the majority of the rail infrastructure in the Mojave. Class I railroads were responsible for long haul freight. These railroads, although under different names and corporations, are still operating and make up the modern Mojave Desert railroad network.- Southern Pacific - Atlantic & Pacific - Santa Fe - San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad - Union Pacific - California Southern - Arizona & California Class IIRegionalCarson & Colorado - Narrow Gauge |
