Woodland

Juniper woodland

A vegetation community characterized by widely spaced large trees whose crowns are typically broad and spreading but do not form a closed canopy. Unlike dense forests, woodlands allow sunlight to reach the ground, supporting the growth of grasses, heath, or scrub vegetation between the trees. This open structure provides habitat for a mix of tree-dwelling and ground-dwelling species and is common in semi-arid and transitional environments.
