Ventifact

A rock or stone that has been sculpted, polished, or faceted by the abrasive action of wind-driven sand and silt particles. Over time, strong and consistent winds can carve flat surfaces, sharp edges, or smooth faces into exposed rocks. In desert environments, ventifacts are often found on barren flats or ridges where vegetation is sparse and wind erosion is active.

They are visual evidence of long-term wind processes and are commonly seen in arid regions like the Mojave Desert.
