Burrow

– A burrow is a hole or tunnel dug into the ground by an animal to live in or take shelter. Different animals make different kinds of burrows depending on their needs. Some are simple holes just big enough for one animal to hide in, while others are complex networks of tunnels and rooms, like an underground house.

Animals dig burrows for all kinds of reasons—they use them to stay safe from predators, escape extreme weather, store food, or raise their young. You’ll find burrows made by creatures like rabbits, ground squirrels, foxes, tortoises, and even insects like ants.

Burrows help animals survive in tough environments and also play an important role in the ecosystem by mixing up the soil and creating shelter for other creatures too.
