Silver Cholla Cactus

Cylindropuntia echinocarpa (formerly Opuntia echinocarpa)

Also called Golden Cholla. Grows 2-5 feet tall and made up of joints 4-8 inches long. Spines on joints are about 1 inch long and are cover by a papery sheath. Greenish-yellow flowers blooming in May through June.
