Hedgehog Cactus

Echinocereus engelmanii var. chrysocentrus

Growing to about 1 foot high, anywhere from 1 to 10 cylindrical stems can grow together. Numerous straight spines cover the ribs of the cactus. Magenta flowers bloom in April and May. Grows close to rocks.
